Plain-English answers.
The questions we hear most often. If yours isn't here, write to us.
01What exactly is being proposed?
A natural-gas-powered data center campus on a parcel currently held by a gas operator, located in Armstrong County across from active residences. The applicant and full filings are still being confirmed. We are gathering signatures now so we have leverage when the formal filing lands.
02Why does it matter if I sign?
PA officials respond to documented constituent pressure. Comparable Pennsylvania campaigns — in South Annville, Hampden, Hazle, East Whiteland, and Montour — have halted or scaled back data center projects when residents organized early. The single most predictive variable is the percentage of township adults who sign.
03Are you anti-AI or anti-technology?
No. We are opposed to siting industrial computing facilities in residential and watershed-sensitive areas. There are appropriate places for data centers. This is not one of them.
04Are you affiliated with any political party?
No. Pennsylvania polling shows 53% of Republicans, 81% of Democrats, and 67% of independents oppose data centers in their communities. This issue is bipartisan in our area.
05How is my signature used?
Your first name, last initial, and town will appear on the public petition by default — you can opt out when signing. Your email is used only for campaign updates and is never shared. We confirm signatures by email to verify they are real before counting them toward our public total.
06Where can I read the documents myself?
See the Resources page. All cited filings and articles link to their original public sources.
07What if I don't live in Armstrong County?
Sign anyway. Watershed impact extends across Westmoreland and Armstrong counties. PA officials care most about resident signatures, but regional and downstream signatures matter for state legislators and county commissioners.
08Who runs this site?
This site is run by neighbors in the Kiski Valley. It is not affiliated with any government body, political party, or commercial interest. See the disclosures in the footer for funding sources — we have not accepted any.
